Horizon Leader Group (HLG), the world’s first, “From Locker Room to Board Room” leadership development agency, is excited to announce the expansion of its world-class Advisory Board with the addition of John Tolkamp.
With more than 30 years of experience, John has developed and implemented large scale strategic technology projects, and led large staff departments and key service delivery partners. In addition, he held the position of President and Board Chair for 10 years at Cycling Canada, and has worked in various consultative and advisory capacities with Cycling’s international governing body, Union Cyclist Internationale (UCI), and as a member of the UCI’s Track Cycling and Ethic’s commissions.
John will work closely with HLG to ensure the company’s technology growth and digital transformation initiatives support HLG’s “From Locker Room to Board Room” vision “John will play a key role in helping to enable our business processes, digital strategy, and data capabilities for our evolving business model,” said Joe Jackman, HLG’s Managing Partner. “In addition, he also brings a unique perspective of the needs and opportunities of athletes outside of the major professional leagues.”
John will work closely with HLG’s Advisory Board, along with the Leadership Management team of Jackman, Stephen Caldwell, Head of Athlete Relations, Debbie Miller, General Manager, Margo Malowney, Head of Strategy and Purpose, Max Dawson, Head of Recruitment Services and Kirsty Dunne, Director of Community.

John has an undergraduate degree in engineering, graduate studies in both automation and computer aided design, and presently serves as a consultant and advisor.
