Olympian, Head of Strategy & Purpose
Margo Malowney was born in Canada, and has lived in or travelled to more than 40 countries around the world. An early career as a professional beach volleyball player led to her competing in the first ever match of Olympic beach volleyball history. Her entrepreneurial drive further fueled her to pursue a Master’s Degree in International Business, a Women’s Executive Leadership Certification from Oxford, as well as ongoing training in corporate sustainability and climate change leadership.
For most of her career, Margo has been using her drive for high performance combined with marketing, brand and business strategy, and innovation skills to help a variety of organizations build, drive growth, and transformation.
In particular, she has worked with athletes and events around the world while leading the international marketing department at a disruptive global apparel company, has connected brands to communities leveraging cause, content, events and media while with a leading QSR chain, and has successfully brought brands, platforms and programs to life for a number of organizations in a variety of industries.
With a focus on strategy, delivery, and exceptional customer experience, her story as an Olympian, in marketing in Canada and globally, and her particular interest in women in sports will help drive HLG as we grow and build toward our vision of creating the first and best in class, by athletes for athletes, leadership development agency.
